Sexual Sin; How to be set Free from Masturbation (part 2)

Sexual Sin; Consequences of Masturbation (part 1)

Can the Holy Spirit live within a masturbating person?
I will say yes! Before most people get born again they could be doing it. But now when they are born-again and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and still need counseling.

One may argue that the Holy Spirit does not live within sinning people. Please be aware that He does not come to live in perfect vessels but imperfect vessels to make them perfect. So yes he can and often live in people like that to convict and help battle out those demons. M is similar to anger and other emotional sins and if that were so, the Holy Spirit will not live in a sizable percentage of Christians, the fact that he is there means that conviction of sin will haunt the person practicing it and if the person practicing it does not stop he or she will not experience his presence anymore. Even so, the Holy Spirit might initiate steps to save the person from this sin.

Sexual Sin; Consequences of Masturbation (part 1)

Sexual Sin; How to be set Free from Masturbation (part 2)

Masturbation (M) is one of those things that is secret among people because they do it in their privacy. This practice has many consequences. M is the stroking of a person’s genitalia with the intention of deriving sexual satisfaction from it. It has several fanciful names like ‘whacking off’ ‘chocking the chicken’ ‘or ‘burping the nephew’; nevertheless it is still self-stimulation with intention of achieving orgasm.

While this is a controversial matter, before I can treat it as sin which I am going to do in this article, whether it is wrong or right depends on the person’s motive. For example where a doctor asks a person to do it because they need a sample of the sperm (if it is a man) to do diagnosis for every the strength of the sperm, you can’t call that one sin. However, if one M with the purpose of deriving sexual satisfaction, now, that one is sin. In this article, am treating M as sin because that is what it is. Some doctors insist that it is safe and normal thing to do but this ‘safe’ act can degenerate into compulsiveness or interfere with the daily life or affect ones relationship with God and with partner. For this matter, I will stand against it all time.

IS IT TRUE THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD?

The Lord is with you even when you don't believe it and feel alone!

IS IT TRUE THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD?

Can you sing with me?
Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distress for Christ’s sake: for when am weak, them am made strong’
Let’s face it; whatever you may be going through the Lord uses it for his own purpose, at least to transform your life. It includes all the good things and the bad thing and so on.

If you don’t take care you might thing “all things work together for our good “(Rom 8:28) is not true but it is. This scripture includes all the terrible things you never want to go through. You have to understand that pain is part of Christianity and God uses it to make your life better.

Paul had a weakness and prayed that God should remove it but he did not. Later on Paul said he rejoices in his weakness, because when he is weak then he is made strong. ‘My strength is made perfect in your weakness’ (2 Cor 12: 7-10).

For instance, when you feel self righteous and you wouldn’t pray and you get embarrassed with fornication you will be humble and pray and seek the face of the Lord. A lot of self righteous prophets often get swallowed by the whale and now they loss their appetite and do their three day fast and in the final analysis end up saving a whole city like Nineveh (Jonah 1,2,3,4).

Paul, who conspired to kill the disciples after suffering the physical ailment of blindness, fasted for three days and look what that did for him, greatest ministry ever!
If you don’t take care sometimes you might speak against God like Job but later on you will see at the end and speak like Job, ‘I repent in dust and ashes’. It happened to me too.

Even though my heart was tearing in my chest I was praising God, because I saw what he was doing with my life. In all things give thanks to God but most importantly find where the Lord is leading you with that issue you may be going through! Don’t waste the experiences the Lord brings your way, they are your promotion! Stay blessed!!

This is why you may be seeing stars this year

And no one pours new wine into old wineskins; otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins will be destroyed. Instead new wine is poured into new wineskins."
Mark 2: 22

For most people aspiring to achieve something great this year, there is one advice I have for you. You want to have a baby right? Then you have to know that baby is going to alter your life either partially or completely. It depends on the magnitude of demand the baby places on your life.

This New Year, almost everybody wrote down their resolutions and what they would like to achieve. One of my major resolutions this year is to really stamp my place in our society as a respected public speaker. For me it was my conference among others. However, I find that because of this conference I have altered my life else it will not work. I soon discovered that I can’t be private any more, I have to visit different churches and groups and I have to join some networks which automatically changes my way of living. I also have to learn to raise funds and build my team. Believe me this is a new life compared to my life last year. It is either I live this way or my objective for this year doesn’t happen.

You have plans this year; you have to know that you have to change your life to suit it. That is what Jesus was talking about that ‘new wine needs new wine skin (bottle)’ else it will break. If you want to become a preacher, you can’t live like the way you use to live anymore. You have to pray more now, you have to study and do some more preaching to become better.

Every new product and the support that it needs; some projects because of their size can even mean that you have to change your location and friends and even miss you family for a while e.g. travelling abroad to do your masters. Somebody, this year you have started classes and you want to pass your wassce and go to university next year; this means you have to start studying every night, cut down on the friends and use that extra time to study, attend classes very often and not complain about tiredness. Kindly consider what your project demands and provide the right backup and your success is assured.  If you love this message please share.

When you are called and you are broke because of it and people see you as a lazy person

Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for people, not people for the Sabbath.
For this reason the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath." Mark 2:27-28

It can be very disturbing when you know you have a calling and you are not able to work because of that. I have seen young preachers embarrassingly broke because they have a calling. This can make you look funny in the eyes of people because they see you as a lazy person; how can a whole MOG not able to fulfill family obligations? The society is not merciful to people like that.

You have to understand that you are Lord of the Sabbath; the Sabbath was made for you and not you for the Sabbath. You come first before your call; if you don’t take care of yourself and you die you will not be able to fulfill it. If that parent loves her child so much that she won’t eat, she will die and leave the child.

The bottom line is that you should be effective with your call 100%. Anything you do that will jeopardize it is not allowed. It is like getting a job that takes all your time even on Sundays so that you don’t have time to go to church or pray anymore. However, if you have a part time job and you close at 12pm and you can still go and pray and do your ministry then it’s perfect! God is not against work. You call can’t support you well for now so you have to do something extra.

You were created for your call, you came as a savior to that problem; Jesus came to earth because he was coming to save mankind. You first and your call second; be respected and loved. By all means fulfill that call but live your life!

Worship The Word Of God

I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. Job 23:12

Recently I have been wondering why a person could have a cold attitude towards the word of God, the Scriptures. I have noticed that we have this imaginary view about a being who is God that we adore in our minds and exhibit certain solemnness when we are in prayer. Well, that imaginary attitude should be directed towards the word of God.

When You Start Small People Will Laugh At You

Do not despise small beginnings, for  the Lord rejoices to see the work beginning ... Zach. 4:10

I have had people laugh at me a number of times. It doesn’t bother me at all because I know what the word of God says about it.

When you want to do something you have to start small and sometimes people will laugh at you; you look like a joke! I have seen people start churches with few members under tents on Sundays and it often looks funny. You are tempted to ask yourself, ‘why don’t they quit and join some other church?’ Yet, the truth is that that is how everything starts, small.

When you are mighty and you don’t know it

Toward this goal I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfully works in me. Colossians 1:29

You are a great person. Great sages have constantly emphasized the fact that everything is within us. Jesus taught the same ‘the kingdom of God is within you, the Holy Ghost is within you, and your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit’.

You can achieve it without having everything in place; work with the storm.

Maybe when you try to achieve a project perhaps it is
like this for you all the time, but ride that storm!!

Many times we have let ourselves to be drawn away from what we are doing. This has happened because one of our expectations is not forthcoming. Every other thing is set but we are not able to produce because that one thing is not available or that one condition or circumstance is not happening. This is similar to having all the ingredients available for cooking with the exception of one. This one is holding everything down for you. It is our lust, our greatest desire. This has the capacity of freezing our lives making us unproductive. There are two things involved here, either you have what you are hoping for to complete your work or you don’t have it at all. Sometimes when you have it, it becomes perfect and when you decide to eliminate perfection you can achieve it anyway. You can cook your meal without salt; you can also travel without your car.

My Discourse on 2 Timothy

In Second Timothy the young minster was having problems and he was in tears. Paul wrote him this letter to encourage him and to clear every doubt out of his mind.

There are times as a young man you begin to question yourself why you are into ministry.

 ‘What is the point of it all?’ you ask yourself.
 You also get confused as to which way to go and
 you need assurance

This is one that was written by Paul to a beginner and young man Timothy and I find it to be very helpful because it addresses the young man’s questions and encourages him to continue with the work of God. If we don’t trust anybody and sometimes there can be manipulation, this book is free of that.

1:4-5
We need to have faith and maintain faith. This is important because without it we can’t please God. The reason why we can’t please God when we don’t have it is because if he tells us to do anything, we would disobey him because we don’t believe him. Without faith you won’t obey.

My story; How rain beat me when I was learning to walk in faith

Believing in God will make the blessing real in your life.
Back in the days when Winners’ Chapel came to Ghana, my friends and I were young enthusiast for Christ and so we were eager to join because of the testimonies we heard. The church grew like how an elephant’s baby grows, in leaps. We were fellowship members and wanted to know what made these strange people tick.

I quite remember how most churches became empty overnight because their members had left them for the new sensation in town. What even puzzled me was the numbers, because the church grew astronomically. I remember their main message was faith. They always preached about faith and criticized our Ghanaian pastors and even bragged about how their Bishop was more powerful than our Archbishop. Ei, this Nigerians! I joined because I wanted to be rich too. When I went to church, my pastor used to lament bitterly, ‘we have provided chairs and roof to cover their heads but they go to those Nigerian churches and stand for long hours only to have the sun beat their foreheads!’. I looked at my pastor and thought silently, ‘but pastor, I want to be rich too, you have too much unbelief look at even the way you are talking negative!'. Most of the charismatic churches collapsed during that time or were left half full. I saw one awayo church immediately beside Winners’ Chapel, so empty and lonely!

How to walk on water; Succeed in your Christian life (Matthew 14:28)

"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to ...

Believers are the audition of God; we represent God on earth. Therefore God expects as to enter the miraculous because that is what Jesus came to establish. The bible says that ‘the least in the kingdom of God shall be greater than John the Baptist’. John the Baptist was one of the greatest prophets in Old Testament times yet prophets of old; their anointing cannot be compared to ours.

Am going to use the story of the walking on water as a case study to show why and how we believers can walk on water, thus do the miraculous like Jesus did. Peter Saw Jesus walks on water and he requested that he meets Jesus. Am sure due to the things that Jesus had been teaching the disciples about who they are in Christ Peter wanted to prove it, hence he decided  to walk on water like Jesus and he almost sank after a few meters of walking on water. Have your thought of it? Peter actually walked on water like Jesus did! However at some point in his adventure he went back to some doubtful thoughts and it almost sank him. We are going to learn a lot from this story.

1
The first lesson here is that Jesus is a miracle God and we are like Him. We have to know that Jesus is God and He does miracles and we are also supposed to do the same. He said, ‘greater things than these shall ye do because I go to my father’. Jesus has relegated the job to us because He is in heaven. He has wired us for the life of walking on the water; a life of doing the unusual things. The bible says, ‘ye are gods’. We are a special breed of people, more than all children of God who ever lived on earth! The bible says that, ‘for as many as believe in him, to them he makes the sons of God’. Every believer is a ‘son of God’ like Jesus.  This implies that we have the same powerful ministry; ‘for the earnest creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God’!

In this New Year, believers who have caught this revelation are going to do mighty deeds; because we are well able and more than able to do it. The things that the Lord has asked me to do this year are only big things! Because the Lord knows that we are big, we are powerful and nothing can stand in our way He gives us big assignments!

2
The second lesson is that we have to make it our prerogative to walk on water. The Spirit of God will ask you to do only big things. We have a worldwide ministry for He said, ‘go into the entire world’. We are international people and these assignments are big and require us to walk on water. If you want to function from your natural abilities then you are out of the equation. You have to face every task and challenge from your divine status as a child of God. The tools that the Lord has given us should be used. We have the Holy Spirit in us, and let’s not do a single thing without involving him.

You have to walk on water because it is the rise to your destiny. Every believer has no choice! The days on bowing down our heads is over, we have to lift our heads and show our chests because we conquerors!

3
The third lesson we have to know is that water has the ability to sink people and so we have to walk in faith of the word of God. Scripture says, ‘the just shall live by his faith’. This is the purpose of faith, to check the sinking problem. Faith is the bridge with which we walk on water. Faith is the force that keeps us on the water and prevents us from sinking.

We get faith by hearing the word of God. If you are going to do mighty works then it is time for you to believe. You have to delve into the word of God till he gives you the revelation of who you are in Christ. When that revelation becomes revealed in your spirit, nothing can stop you again because you will function from a different level!

Read your bible and let the Spirit of God give you the revelation. Attend conferences and learn more about God. Moreover scripture says Daniel, ‘but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits’ (11:32).  Once you walk with the Lord and you chalk more victorious experiences you faith will rise. You will begin to believe more. When David was asked whether he could fight Goliath what he gave for his audition was the fact that he had killed the lion and the bear. Cement your faith with victories.

4
The final lesson here is that as a believer you are going to face a test of faith. Peter was tested and he almost sank except the Lord helped him. When you get born again, spiritually everything changes for a divine life. Yet your outer life is still the same. You may be living in certain conditions that do not reflect your present spiritual status. It is at this point that you have to be strong in faith and believe that what God has said concerning you is the truth. The bible says, ‘let all men be liars and God be truth’. Let’s say that you are broke, yet the bible says that ‘He became poor that you through his poverty will become rich’. Now this means that you are rich but at the moment your riches are not showing. You have to think and believe that you are rich. Don’t confess poverty but confess that you are rich and also believe for finances to live as a rich person. As you do this the miracles will start happening and you will begin to walk on water.

Believing in God might not yield the miracles immediately but the bible says in Galatians that ‘the fruit of the spirit is longsuffering’ (5:22). Meaning the Holy Spirit is going to provide patience in you till you see the fruit of your faith materialize. No matter what situation you are in, financial hardship or any sin, believe that you are out of it and think as one; talk in line with it and the miracle will start to happen.

The Seven Colors of Jealousy

what jealousy can do to people
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. 2 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)

Jealousy and envy are one. It is when somebody’s achievements make you hate the person. You compare your situation with the person and wish you could become like them.
Jealousy is heightening at the period when you are in dire need of something and possessing what your friend has would be a golden opportunity.
Jealousy is a fruit of the flesh, specifically from the soul. There are sins of the body like fornication, drunkenness and the like; but the sins of the soul have to do with the feelings.
If you are jealous it means you are not walking in the spirit. Scriptures says if we walk in the spirit and we would not fulfill the desires of the flesh.

The comeback (Job 14:9)

"At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail’ Job 14:9

I went to a house to teach and I saw a big mango three, it supplied air to the house. I didn’t think they used fans in that house. The following week it was gone. They’d cut it down, I saw them burn the leaves and branches but the stump was left there. After some few days I went there  and I told the landlord that I like that mango three and they shouldn’t have cut it down, he bragged that it had grown too big and he feared it would fall on the house so he cut it, even so, it would sprout a gain. I didn’t believe him. Two weeks later I went to that house again and when I mentioned that matter of the tree he went straight to where the tree was and plucked some leaves to show me that it was sprouting. I was aghast.

What chances do those who slip in the Lord and come back have? (Judges 16:30)

The stories of the prodigal son, the backsliding of Samson and Peter who denied Christ three times shows that there is room for a comeback in the Lord. Scriptures like ‘a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again’ confirms this fact. Israel sinned and were punished a number of times and God gave them many second chances.

To fall as a Christian means to backslide or fall into sin and give up the faith. To fall also implies staying dormant as a Christian and not doing the work the Lord has assigned you to. I use the term loosely to stress the in-activeness of the believer. So, there are those who have fallen who go to church and those who don’t. The typical characteristic with them is that, their life is not in sync with the Holy Spirit.
