First conquer yourself, then your locality before you attempt to affect the world ( 1 Tim 4 )
Let me set the records straight so that the coast can be clear.
This is a leadership series.
Leadership can be very tricky, if you are not careful you might think it is just set of principles in a book that you just have to practice and score high marks. Or, you assume it is for those who go to governance school only.
No. It is for everyone because you will always seek cooperation from others, if you don't know how to influence them you won't garner their support.
When you don't have the necessary background or character and skills that set you apart as a person, nobody will listen to you. If you try it, they will soon discover you are a clown and escape from you. Principles won't add anything to you if you don't have its accompanying character.
Win yourself, then win your immediate family; it is your first practice and taste of leadership. You need their support to rise. A family problem would be your bane and sabotage, you shall refer to it as long as its unsolved.
Finally, you are fit to impact the world. The world is a tough headmaster, it will examine and frisk you in every way imaginable, before it adds you to the great.
DON'T DOWNPLAY THE CONCEPT OF LEADERSHIP, AFRICA IS A PRODUCT OF TERRIBLE GOVERNANCE DESPITE ALL THE ADVANTAGES WE HAVE OVER THE WORLD.
Note:
I use the term prophet loosely in this series, Joel tells us that the Spirit shall be poured on all of us.
I use 'prophet' because we have something to give to the world which the Lord has deposited in us.
Using 1 Timothy 4, may the Holy Teach us.
