Power, Songs & Instruments can be used to praise God.
Am liking this subject of thankfulness of heart. We could have avoided many diseases and lived longer with more happiness if we had been thankful for the gift of life only. God be praised.
We can't say we won't cry and mourn? Its part of human nature but that should not be our default character. After all the crying and sadness - for a few minutes - lets wash our faces and smile, life is a gift!
I like to use the Basic English Bible for 2 Samuel 6:5 which uses words like power, songs and instruments in describing how David and his company worshipped the Lord.
Power here represents they praising God with their strength. It means we can do things to praise God. Certain activities show appreciation to God. Giving to someone in appreciation of God's kindness to you is one of those. We can't see God and give it to him directly, the only avenue we have is to bless someone. Jesus said, whatever you do for these little ones you have done unto him.
Songs here represent words from our lips. While we may sing songs lets talk right because God listens to everything we say. You may say God doesn't hear you but if I tell you to insult God into the air you won't, why? You believe he hears you.
Instruments also represents objects we use. Do you hide your money and watch people hunger? Do you pay your workers well? Are a terror to your tenants? Great actions using objects like cars to give lifts and houses and so on are a praise to God. When people want to scorn God they do things to make him feel insulted. Do great things, make him proud. I HAVE NOTICED THAT PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY GRATEFUL TO GOD ARE VERY KIND!
Lets eat our favourite meal today and say thank you to Jesus. If you don't have enough for your favourite too thank God for what you have now - tomorrow will change for you in Jesus name!
