What you keep for God determine what you receive from him
Obededom kept the Ark of God in his house and 'serviced' it and God blessed him for keeping and servicing. The scripture says 'and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household'. This is a blessing that we crave for. This blessing had marriage in it, financial wealth, transportation mercies, protection, health and so on!
Many people travel to certain places for it, they meet all manner of 'men of God' for it. Others attend prayer meetings for it and even cry for it.
But I want you to know that keeping the Ark of God can hand this blessing to you on a silver platter. No one will take your money from you or try to abuse you if you seek it the right.
In Genesis, Laban told Jacob that he was blessed because of Jacob's sake, portiphar also admitted that his whole house was blessed because of Joseph. In 2 Corinthians 8 the people became rich through their giving to support God's work ( Ark ).
Yes giving is the point! Helping someone consistently will change your life. By blessing somebody, you open the door for God to reach you. By sponsoring a church program you attract great blessings. When it is about God lets jump to it!
Look, there is no shortcut. If we want to get blessed then we must stop complaining that we don't have and be a real blessing! It said of the Corinthians 'how that in a great trial of affliction ...and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality'.
The Bible in the Basic English version puts it much clearly,
How while they were undergoing every sort of trouble, and were in the greatest need, they took all the greater joy in being able to give freely to the needs of others.
-2 Corinthians 8:2
Let's take something of God and make it great. Let's support his work; let's keep and tender God's garden. Let's do it whether it is convenient for us or not.
God is not blind, if we are good he will locate and bless. Cornelius knew nothing about the Apostles but because of his giving God reached out to him.
Acts 10
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
I want God to reach out to me this way, what about you? Instead of we showing wickedness to each other, lets do some trading with God. Lets do business with Jehovah and he will bless us.
If we love our families, children, husbands, wives, lets serve God genuinely and the blessings will trickle on them.
