Exposition on 2 Samuel 6 by Claus

When David Was Snobbish......
I like this section. When I read the whole chapter I couldn't wait to get here and share.
This chapter says David was angry that the Lord had killed Uzzah for touching the ark, they must have been great friends.
The Kickback
In David's anger he just left the ark in one of the Israelite's house and forgot about it entirely! I can't believe he did this!
Then one day he heard that the house of Obededom was prospering greatly for keeping the ark for only three months!
2 Samuel 6
10 So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.
12 And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
Applying it to our days
We all have been guilty. ANYTHING OF GOD WHICH HE PUT YOU IN CHARGE IS AN ARK OF GLORY; THAT PASTOR OR CHILD YOU ARE HELPING, THE WORK IN THAT MINISTRY AND INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE HOLYSPIRIT ARE MEANT TO BLESS YOU.
Obededom took care of the ark and was blessed. People have become so selfish they reject those who need help. They are like David, minding their own business. Whether that person eats or not you don't care! He didn't pay your school fees for you and so he shouldn't worry you.
You have money but don't want to support God's work. That your sister's son is at home because of school fees but you don't care. A lady wants you to connect her with a job but you want to do something with her first!
People come for prayers and they don't want to consecrate their lives, they don't want to carry the ark, they want nothing to do with the work of God. ' Just prophesy, Papa Claus, pray for me now'. I tell them the grace of God on me doesn't work like that. I am not a miracle magic machine. My prayers work when you have a repentant heart. The grace of God on me can't help you if you live anyhow.
If a prophet helps you while you live anyhow please check their source of power. Even David didn't partake of the blessings except those who kept the ark.
Those who are snobbish when it comes to the work of God struggle for miracles.
God said obedience is better, he doesn't need your prayers, he needs your obedience.
God says sacrifice is inferior, sacrifice is second best. Sacrifice is attending all the prayer meetings but not heeding to the directions of the Holy Spirit. God won't accept anything less than the best.
If we can obey we wouldn't need to visit any prophet. It is because we have been over dependent that is why we are been exploited. We say carrying the ark is expensive but we are paying more for not carrying it.
The ark is not gone to any place, it is right here! It is God's people, God's work and God's instructions!
Let's be smart and enjoy the blessings of God.
