Often times I have seen wonderful people under-achieve
because they have decided to use the spiritual tools (prayer, fasting, etc.)
available to them. I am not against these because I practice them too. Am sorry to say that despite our big
confessions, we have nothing to show for it; some unbelievers are far ahead
than most Christians. We are baffled every year by our lack of progress as we
think quietly in our beds and cry silently. Sometimes a little bit of frankness
is a tonic.
At school you learn many things about business, you are
taught to think but when you decide to believe in the Lord you stop thinking.
For instance, ask the believer ‘how do you plan in executing this business?’
and he will tell you point blank that ‘I believe in the Lord’ or ‘the Lord will
do it’. He or she stops planning completely forgetting that if you fail to plan
you plan to fail.
When you say ‘the Lord will do it’ you shut the door of your
mind from thinking, this has been our bane. Instead of you taking your time to
study and find practical solutions to your business problems you pray instead.
I say that when we really learn how to think and know how to do certain things
right, our prayers are going to be only thanks giving; that thing that you are
believing God for somebody also knows how to achieve it without praying. That unbeliever never prayed for anything but
achieved that big company by thinking; today's believer don’t want to think but
just believe God, sheer laziness. Therefore I have seen fresh believer surpass old
believers in achievement in a short time; but they too soon loss their
creativity when they start acting ‘faith’ and stop thinking.
So I have noticed something about our brethren, despite their
claim to walk in faith they have no answers. Some have lost hope in fasting
because they are not able to walk in total anointing permanently, just a little
sin then the power is gone; the prayer alone have failed to give them the
crowds they hoped for. I have problem with pastors who read only their bible
when they could have added a book on events management or marketing to make their programmes better.
Don’t drop the mind out of your life because it is the most
important thing God gave you. The elephant
has huge body, the ostrich, the mosquito has its proboscis, the antelope has
speed, gorillas have great strength and so it continues but man has nothing
except his brain. All the houses, cars, planes, etc. once existed in man’s
mind. They came into being through the knowledge of physics, biology,
agriculture, mathematics of which all these are the product of the human mind.
If we remove the human mind from the earth will our faith bring these
inventions magically into being?
