If you want respect, support and adoration from many people read this

This is what Great men do.

Our society endows people with power when they fill certain positions. In the family it is often the father, he has the most respect; he is the bread winner. There church leader has the major share of respect and garner lots support. In our nation, we have the president who has every arsenal at his disposal and this is bestowed on him by the people.

For some of us we may not be in these positions but we can also enjoy greatness. There is an underlying principle that relinquishes such power and reverence in people within certain positions.
In life there are laws and principles, things don’t just happen because everything is by design.

1
The underlying principle behind all these powers is servant hood; the more people you serve the more support you receive from people.

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
Matt. 20:20-28 (KJV)

Fathers take care of the children’s fees, protect, counsel and do most of the important works. That is where they get their powers from. A father who cannot provide for the family and lets his wife do it for him loses the honor and respect that accompanies his position.

Positions do not really count but it is what we contribute to people’s lives that make the difference.

The more people you serve the more support you get. It is reciprocal.  Look at footballers of today, they are so rich and famous because they serve millions of people with their games. They make people happy and they are been made rich by the same people.

There is nothing in positions the real thing is in what you do to bless people.

2
People are assets.

When think about assets and properties, we only think about cars, houses, lands and so on. In our world, individuals who have lots of support from people are very powerful. The president is powerful because he has all the support of Ghanaians. During the time of voting, the person with the most support is able to attain the prestigious position of presidency. Let’s look at our church leaders in Ghana, the universities they’ve built, the philanthropic work they are doing and the successes they chalk every day, they where attained by the help of many people.

With all that you are doing, if people would support you by giving you their money, time and talent none of your dreams would be left unfilled.

3
You can’t succeed in life without people and the opportunity to impact people is in small places.

Everybody wants big crowds in order to perform. But you would be surprised that where ever there are big crowds the pipe is choked so that you would not even have the chance to offer what you have.

It is difficult to be celebrated in a big church; but is easy to be a star with a small group of people. Scripture says ‘do not despise the day of small beginnings’.

If you find a small place to be of help you would be like a shark in a small pond but if you want a big place you would be like a shark in an ocean – you become insignificant in an ocean but not in a pond.

4
The beauty of any person lies in the impact they have in the lives of their fellow men.

If you want adoration from people help them in the area where they are most in need. This way, you would be seen as God sent. When I go to places, I first find out what is lacking over there and then I become a solution. Usually people see me as a great man and yet it’s just me.

5
Any person who wants majority support should serve the majority.
This you do by serving people in groups. Join associations and be useful. Make sure what you are doing for the association impacts the life of everybody and you would have all of them as your supporters.
If you join an association you would have a whole association’s backing if you focus on an individual, you would have an individual’s support; both are have their place and are equally potent.

When people pay you for what you have done for them, you lose their voluntary support; but, if you offer something for free people would be eternally indebted to you.
A musician sings at your birthday party and takes money. Next time when he is launching his music album, it is not by force that you should attend. But if he sings for free, you owe him and you would find time to attend else your conscience would prick you.

6
I have dreams and they are very big. My dreams involve a lot of money. I cannot work for all the money, some of them I shall need to take freely from people. I would open companies and I would need very good people to manage it. As a public speaker, I would need people to love me and attend my programmes. The writing on the wall is clear, I cannot reach anywhere without people. When Jesus saw that his people would not patronize him, he left for a better people who believed in his vision.

In our days, the really great men would be men who have the support of the masses. And if you want the support of the masses, you service must be powerful enough the reach them wherever they are. Without service to people, you obviously don’t count.

Matthew 20:20-28

King James Version (KJV)
20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
