LETS STOP USING CHRIST AS AN EXCUSE
2 Samuel 6
2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.
I want to pick two very important key words for this exposition; Arose and Went.
I have observed something in particular going on in the ministry and that is the search for that ultimate thing that will give us our destiny. Looking at most preachers, we think that if we can prophesy like that great man we can reach our goals. Oh! That I can prophesy like Apostle Suleman! I shall surely have the same crowd as he has!
This is why every chap wants to prophesy. But I have seen that there are some prophets whose prophecies are more stunning than certain prophets we see as the 'papa'. Still, there are certain ministries that don't prophesy and yet they are doing Better.
Let me tell you that certain things are more powerful and helpful to your organization than Gifting and that is leadership. A gift will make room for you; thus, people will give you the chance to operate, leadership helps you to steer your venture to success. People have prophesied with their gifts and haven't seen much success because they don't know how to work with their members. A gift is not all encompassing but leadership is.
A person without a special gift but with great knowledge in people Management ( leadership skills) will go far than any person with a special gift. Anointing is a gift, don't we see people do things with it and yet their success isn't much?
David AROSE; this is hard. It means hard work based on your goals; it also means facing the job that you are running away from.
I know leaders who don't arise,
- they wait till an event before they start making promises.
- After the event is over they forget their promises.
- Next time there's an event they find an immovable people who will not support them.
- They blame everybody but themselves. BUT YOU CAN'T USE CHRIST AS AN EXCUSE TO FLOUNDER, THERE IS NO SLOPPINESS IN GOD! IF YOU MISS IT YOU GET PUNISHED.
Any leader who avoids this behavior is a leader who has arisen and they will be rewarded with the backing of the people.
David WENT; he went with the people. Jesus said any great person will be one who serves the people. You go with the people. If you want people to serve you then leave that position because its for those who serve.
If somebody comes to my meeting its because they want something and if I can't give them what they want they will go find it somewhere else, thus, am fired!
Please don't look far from you and point to anybody, am talking to you who is reading this piece. You may be in a relationship of some kind either dating, marriage or business or church - you are a leader.
THE MOVE OF GOD IS NOT ONLY BY ANOINTING BUT BY DELIBERATE LEADERSHIP ABILITIES, IF WE FAIL IN THIS ASPECT OUR GIFTS MIGHT NOT ACCOMPLISH MUCH NO MATTER HOW POWERFUL THEY ARE.
