| What is the direction of your rising ministry? |
When you are a minister you
have been put in charge of God’s ministry completely. Every ministry has a
general instruction which bible refers to as ‘true godliness’ where we all
follow a general direction. The second is a specific direction given to the man
of God as Paul said ‘I have finished my
course’; this why scriptures says ‘comparing themselves with one another they
were not wise’. Every man of God has a peculiar ministry.
At the back of my bible are the
accomplishments of Oral Roberts; a university, ‘he said God told him to ‘build
a university for the ongoing of the healing ministry’; ‘build it with a prayer
tower at the heart of the campus. Let prayer rise 24hrs a day’; training
school, ‘in the late ‘60s God told me to train World Action teams to go from
ORU onto all the world with the gospel’;
God showed me a long time ago that millions of men and women who never
attend church read the SPORTS PAGE every day. In order to reach them with the
gospel, we must first gain their attention by going into their world of
sports’; the miracle television has allowed as to touch the lives of millions
each week’; our evangelistic association continue to reach out to millions of
people through our publications’; ‘God revealed to me His plan for a great
medical center on ORU campus, you shall call it the CITY OF FAITH, where
medicine and prayer shall be merged’.
Not everything that the great
man of God did have been written here. But suffice to say every man of God and
their ministry have a great destiny and what we achieve should be similar to
what I have summarized here.
Ministers have the eye of the
spirit and they see their future. Their haste and sometimes confusion
make some of them use different means to attain it. Notable among the actions
we take are constant prayer and fasting, building strong associations with
certain men of God, using our own education and knowledge to do own projects,
going to seminaries and so on. Some ministers have gone to live on some
mountains, fasting several days; those who cannot fast that long feel they are
not qualified to be ministers. This action has led most of us to believe that
certain actions can bring the destiny of our ministries to reality. The frustration has set in and most ministers
have not been successful; the actions and methods are not yielding the results
they wanted. Other ministers have gone to put something ‘under’ their
ministries as we usually say it locally.
But today by the grace of God I shall show a more perfect way.
‘Thou has loved righteousness
and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the
oil of gladness above all thy fellows’. This is what we all seek; a special
anointing that would draw the crowds, touch peoples’ heart for them to support
our vision with their time and money.
If we want the anointing and
support of God then we have to follow Jesus’ example, He said ‘the father has
not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him’. The power of every ministry lies in this
simple truth; Obedience to the Holy Spirit. Scripture says ‘obedience is better
than sacrifice’. When we want to do our own thing and think we can purchase the
anointing of God with long hours of prayer and days of fasting, then we would
be in for surprises. Unless those long hours of prayers lead us to listen to
the voice of the Holy Spirit and do all the projects He wants us to do, we won’t
see any substantial achievement. Prayer and fasting should lead us to obey the
Him. The numerous services you are holding and the prophetic you believe in, is
not what would empower you to see the success.
Serving God is not a method but
obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
First of all, you need complete
holiness and this is what activates the Spirit in your life. As you pray and
fast you become more conscious of Him and the directions come. Yours is not to
select what you like but to do all. You have to listen to him constantly and
not delay.
There is one thing I know; the
Spirit is a person and like the way our parents are affected by our actions, he
is also affected. Scriptures says we can ‘grieve’ him. Hence, he is able to
bless his children in different levels, that is why has anointed Jesus ‘above
his fellows’. You have to make him happy and proud of you! You have to be his
friend; strive to impress him with your constant closeness to Him in fasting
and prayers and execute all the projects he has for you. He is not like the
statue or object we think Him to be.
Delete all your personal agenda
from the Lord’s ministry to make sure your obedience is complete. The times
that I have witnessed my greatest preaching were when I have left everything to
Him. When I have believed in my long hours of prayer and my days of fasting, I have
not seen the effect much.
You can’t purchase the
fulfillment of your ministry with your methods. The fact that somebody is
prophesying and it is working for him doesn’t mean if you prophesy it would
work for you. So you have left the teaching that He wants you to do and you are
prophesying by force. Haven’t you seen great men in our days that are not
prophesying and yet doing exploits?
In the spirit there is only one
method and that is obedience.
The anointing and breakthrough
in ministry follows only the obedient once.
Prophecy for you;
There
are ministries that are going to suffer and some are going to fall.
There
are some that are going to follow their own ways because they want to bring
their over ambitiousness to God’s work, they would follow their own ways and
God will not back them up and their
revelation would be scanty. For such, their ministry is going to be like
managing a circus or commercial business.
The
worst is the lackadaisical, they would always be small and their ministry
unfulfilled.
The
final one is the one with the breeze of the anointing, where even the
unbeliever would be caught in the Spirit. The Spirit is felt and the success is
massive because of the head and congregation’s obedience is complete. The
vision, general good and structure are by me and so the anointing would be by
me.
My friend, we all have a great
ministry but it is only God who can make it come to pass. As a man of God,
change your ways and follow the Holy Spirit completely because that is what
would birth the true power in your life and ministry. Live your life with the
Holy Spirit by prayer, fasting and the word and don’t be timid when he asks you
to do a project because he would back you up and you see success. Real
ministerial power is when you are able to do the great projects He asks you to.
He will not disgrace you; ‘as the father has sent me, so send I you’
